With the amount of Erasmus  students arriving in Paris it is no surprise that the question I am asked isn’t !Where is the Eiffel Tower?” or ‘have you learnt much French?” or even “Are the French men really that romantic”, it is in fact “Where are the best places to go clubbing?”.
Well, it all depends what type of scene you’re looking for in a club. If you’re into rich, fancy, exclusive clubs.. Try Le Cab on rue de Rivoli across the Louvre. The music there is electronic/techno and the people are fairly pretentious, therefore it is only worth going there if you’re going with a large group and sharing a table which starts at €1000. The dance floor at Cab is very small and the dancing is not crazy because everyone is mostly there to sit at their tables and order fabulously expensive champagne and cocktails. It is amazing though and the celebrity spotting is definitely worth the trip.  Being a poor college student though, I cannot say that that is the case when it comes to me.
There is also Showcase, which is under Pont Alexandre III in the 7eme. It’s surprisingly big but oddly shaped (like a rectangle). The club is very popular and posh as well, but not like Cab. I think it’s because the interior of Cab LOOKS expensive while Showcase is literally underground beneath a bridge, so the walls are stone and dungeonesque. The music is also similar but the people are more easygoing so dancing is a lot of fun. Actually, many celebrities frequent this place as the club’s “highlight†so you should check out if anyone is there tomorrow!
Duplex, located on the Champs Élysées is always a fall back for me. The line is usually really long because it’s very well known with tourists and Parisians looking for a fun night out. The club is actually two stories, which is really cool because despite the mass amount of people – it’s does not get that grossly packed. The music is less techno/electronic and more top 100 hits meaning easier to dance to. It’s kind of overwhelming to lose your friends there because the club is so big so watch out.
Finally… Mix. Definitely not for a Saturday night though!
