4 things every successful woman invests in

Every woman has her own definition of success, however, there are traits these women share. Your daily habits will set the tone for your week, and then consequently outline your months and years. Make wise choices and even though attaining these characteristics won’t buy you success, they will give you the confidence to become the best version of yourself.

 1. Education

Whether it is formal or informal, successful women understand that education is important. Learning doesn’t finish when university does either, you need to hone in on your craft by reading all about it and investing in self-improvement or entrepreneurial material. This is a choice and a choice you should commit to every evening. Sheryl Sandberg has suggested women create an 18-month learning plan. Rather than read mindlessly, figure out and write down what you would like to improve and the skills you would like to acquire.

 2. Journaling

Actor, Carey Mulligan keeps a journal on her stardom to remind herself of her journey. She says: “When you dream of being an actor when you’re six, you dream of lightbulbs around your mirror. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I’m writing stuff down and trying to remember it.” As important as it is to write down where you are going, you also need to be grateful and look back on how far you have come. Even media-mogul, Oprah famously keeps a health and wellness journal to track her growth.

3. Energy

Successful women don’t run on autopilot, they are consciously choosing where to invest their time, energy, and money. Everything you invest in outside of work should keep you happy, fulfilled, and energised. Most successful women meditate to help them find satisfaction in their daily routines. Arianna Huffington is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post and author of Thrive. She says: “The busier we are, the more we need that centering time- that time to be able to connect to our inner wisdom.” One study found that just two weeks of meditation helps people’s focus and memory. You have to clear your mind to be able to excel. Just like your environment, your mind cannot be cluttered.

4. Social groups

Friendships can change the more you become successful. You have to be logical and level-headed to be successful so you can’t have a mediocre friendship group. You have to know if your friends are having a positive or negative effect on you. Surround yourself with focused, caring and confident young women if that is what you strive to be. After all, you are the average of the five people you spend most of your time with.

Being a successful woman isn’t hard, every single woman can achieve it. You have to know who you are and be okay with it. To be strong, you have to act like it.  So start journaling, reading and meditating. Good luck.
