I have unfortunately been plagued with bad days coming my way recently. It can be hard to bring your all when you are emotionally and/or physically drained. It can be even harder to walk in confident to an interview or class exam. But, life goes on and life probably isn’t catching you any breaks.
Sometimes the simplest of fixes is a shower in the morning. Give yourself time to freshen up and to start your day on a clean slate. Showers wake you up and can make your day a little less intolerable by making yourself feel renewed.
Relax before you have to start your day. Take a nap or hang out on the couch with a book and puppy. Try to prepare yourself for the rest of the day with a calm and comfortable start.
You can try to turn your day around with little things. Treat yourself to a big Starbucks Frappuccino in the morning to wake you up. Nothing is better than a comfort drink. Buy your favorite lunch to give yourself something to look forward to throughout the day. You can also carry out a good deed such as buying a friend or even a total stranger a cup of coffee too.
Throw yourself into your work. Keeping yourself busy can distract you and keep your mind off things. Set small tasks and appreciate the small accomplishments for your day.
Make sure to act confident, even if you are really feeling down. By acting with confidence, it will radiate off you. Plus, there is no reason to let anyone know you’re off your A game, unless you want him or her to know.
Remember that whatever you are doing, you get to go home after a certain amount of time. Remember that you are human and every human makes mistakes. If you mess something up because of your bad day you can always try to fix it. You could even aspire to do better the next day. Don’t be too hard on yourself for a bad day, everyone gets at least one.
Always remember, that if you’re having that serious of a bad day, do not feel bad about taking a sick day. Your emotional and physical health is more important than anything your bad day has in store for you. Sometimes everyone needs a break to get back on their A game.
