1. Use shortcuts. Be particular about your time but do not be pedantic. It can be easy when you are stressed to then concentrate even more on the easiest tasks. However, this will mean poor results and you will still be left needing to complete those more difficult jobs.
2. Schedule your time. Each morning write down what you will be doing every few hours. This will keep you on top of your to-do list and not procrastinating.
3. Use the phone. Stop texting and sending Facebook messages. In one phone call you can spend ten minutes discussing everything you need to while also catching up, as opposed to sending thirty messages between the two of you.
4. Be concise. Always walk away knowing you put 100% effort into that particular task. You don’t want to be thinking you could have done better so make sure you are concise and not in an environment which can distract you easily.
5. Look after your greatest weapon. This is you. You need to take care of yourself and be responsible enough to know that your mind, body and soul are super important. Take a bubble bath on a Sunday, exercise regularly and make sure you are having fun.
6. Don’t now work smarter and harder. Having said all of the above, don’t now go away and start working even harder. Remember, life is short and there is so much to enjoy outside of working.
