If I had no limits what would I do?
What was your dream as a child? Your goal as a teenager or aim as a twenty-something? It is easy nowadays to think realistically and pursue the first career that comes your way because your initial dream seems too difficult and time-consuming to go after. As any human, you have an inner motivation to exist in infinite ways, but societal expectations to forge a certain path takes over and you soon find yourself in a stable position but unhappy. This is your reminder that you should write your ultimate goal down on a piece of paper, stick it on your mirror and then brainstorm the ways you are going to achieve it. Your outlandish, awe-inspiring idea is what the world needs, you have just been putting it off.
Am I embracing my true self?
You are the first five people you surround yourself with. A lot of the time, we kid ourselves into thinking that our friends have it better. We idealise them and admire them for it so we try and take on one of their personality traits or participating in things you wouldn’t naturally want to. It will never sit right with you so embrace who you are and stay true to your values.
What do others see in me that I can’t see in myself?
It is easier to fault others than ourselves. A communication mishap could alter your reputation or you might come across in a different way. You need perspective to fully embrace your true self and pursue the journey you are meant to. Start being receptive to feedback and take other’s comments a little more seriously.
What is a regret I want to change?
Now, is the time. If you have a sibling you haven’t spoken to in months or a dream you wish you had pursued, GO DO IT. Change it. Life is too short to care so much about pride, dignity or stubbornness.
What is my word?
Think of a word you would like to sum up how you would like to start being. It could be compassion, grace, kindness or observe. Write a list with suggestive ways you can start living your word. When someone aggravates you, think back to your word or if you are having a bad day, feel your word. With this small change, you will start living a happier life.
What legacy would I like to leave behind?
The life you are living today is the legacy you are leaving behind. What would you want others to say about you? How would you want to be perceived and how would you like to be remembered? Write an obituary and then ask yourself what you can do today for it to be true.
