5 Winter Skincare Saviours

Winter is a joyous time of year – hot chocolate by the fire, the possibility of snow, and being able to celebrate the holidays with your family. However, not everyone is excited for the dropping temperates and the icy winds. Our skin is extremely sensitive to the constant changes in temperature and humidity, and winter can be our its worst nightmare. But fret not! Today I’m here to share with you my top 5 winter skincare essentials to help you fight off any flakiness…

Weleda Skin Food: (http://www.weleda.co.uk/balms/skin-food-75ml/invt/106013)

If you’re looking for the ultimate wonder cream, then look no further. Weleda’s extremely popular Skin Food is a rich, nourishing full-body moisture treatment which can be used to combat dry patches, freshen up those cuticles and help to prep your feet for those sparkly party heels.  Having a mini size of this in your handbag or on your bedside table can be a life saver to combat that blustery winter weather.

Nuxe Rêve de Miel Lip Balm: (https://uk.nuxe.com/reve-de-miel/reve-de-miel-20th-anniversary-ultra-nourishing-lip-balm-yellow-hydrating-lip-balm-nourishes-repairs-and-protects-jar-15ml)

Lip balm luxury starts here, and when it comes to keeping your lips in tip-top shape for that kiss under the mistletoe, this is the best of the bunch. I have tried out my fair share of lip balms in my time, and I can confirm that this is the only one that I plan to use for a long, long time.

E54 Cream: (http://www.boots.com/en/E45-Cream-50g_1001093/)

Going back to basics is never a bad thing. Whenever my dry skin gets out of hand (dry eyelids anyone?) I always go back to my trusty E45 cream because it’s know for being able to solve practically any skin-related problem. E45 cream helps to treat and soothe dry, sensitive skin, as well as forming a protective barrier to help to prevent any further damage. No matter what kind of skin you have, I think it’s essential to have a tube of this stuff lying around so that you have all bases covered.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil: (http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/shop-by-range/vitamin-e/vitamin-e-overnight-serum-in-oil-28ml.aspx)

Now before you start running for the hills, using oil on your skin is extremely hydrating and everyone should really give it a go (yes, even you oilier skinned girls…) Without getting too technical, it hydrates and plumps your skin, and no, it won’t clog your pores. In fact, it’s great for oily skin because most products used to control acne will strip the skin of natural oils, so this helps to replace them without worsening your skin. If you’re still not convinced, still take a look at the Vitamin E range from The Body Shop as it has some amazing hydrating products for all skin types.

Garnier Intense 7 Days Hand Cream: (http://www.boots.com/en/Garnier-Body-7-Days-Mango-Hand-Milk-100ml_1250037/)

Skincare isn’t just about looking after your face, but about keeping your whole body happy. One body part that does most of the hard work – yet often gets neglected – is our poor little hands. Exposure to the elements, general dehydration, and that pesky washing up all lead to some very unhappy paws. I am a huge lover of hand cream, and sometimes some of the cheapest are some of the best! This Garnier one is currently next to my kitchen sink and has kept my hands extremely content this winter.

These 5 great skincare saviours plus a healthy dose of moisturiser and as much water as you can down is guaranteed to keep your skin glowing and plump all winter long. Do you have any tips for keeping your skin happy when the weather turns frightful? Let us know!
