Every year I like to take some time out in December to focus on my goals and ambitions. The pandemic has proven that we can’t plan everything and I’m not suggesting you need to plan everything out but a little personal development at this time of year doesn’t hurt anyone.
Set goals and ideas that are unbounded by your past. A lot of the time we set goals based on where we currently are. I urge you to think bigger. Where do you want to be this time next year? Emotionally, spiritually, even physically.
Focus on the skills you want to develop. When I decided to launch my podcast, I didn’t do it right away. The reason being I wasn’t the person I needed to be to be a successful podcaster. I started focusing on the skills I needed to develop to become that person. Whether communication, marketing, negotiation, persuasion, block out time to develop the skills you need to become the person you are destined to be.
Ask yourself how you can serve more. Provide, provide, provide. If you are hoping to launch a successful business or even social media account then you need to ask yourself how you can serve your audience more. Whether that be through trainings, Instagram reels or building your email list, there is always something more you can be doing.
Give yourself a word. You have heard me talk about this so much, each year I choose a word to live by. Last year I chose the word grace. This year I chose the word accelerate. As you know this year the podcast became top-rated, I launched my Youtube channel, finished my book which you can preorder now, I redesigned the website and have already told you about the programme coming soon to Smart Girl Trbe. All in all, in preparation for 2021, I am setting new goals, focusing on the skills I have to develop for those goals, I ask myself how I can serve more and choose a word for the year ahead.
Let me know what you are doing to prepare for 2021 in the comments below.
