Wearable Fashion Week A/W Trends

From the barely there to the all-out, Fashion Week A/W 17 had it all when it came to striking beauty looks. As always, many of the full on faces presented by some of the world’s top make up artists don’t transition that well into everyday life, however, today we’re going to take a look at which trends are ready to walk straight off the runway and into your makeup bag.

1) Minimal base and bold lips

Models walking for Mary Katrantzou, Eudon Choi and Topshop were rocking the perfect eye- catching look that anyone can pull off, day or night. Grab your favourite bold lipstick, whether that be an outrageous orange, a fun fuchsia or a racy red and get ready to work it. The focus is all about the lips, so just sick with a light base (preferably BB cream or tinted moisturiser) and comb your brows through with a clear gel.

2) Statement eyes are in

Exaggerated eye makeup was the story of the day for many designers, including House of Holland, Versace and Gareth Pugh, to name a few. Whilst many of these looks may be a bit out of reach for an everyday look, we can certainly take inspiration from these looks and make them our own. Why not pick up a graphic blue liner or a plum mascara next time you’re shopping and add colour to your everyday look in a more subtle way?

3) Orange is the new pink

Fashion designers Mimi Wade and Fashion East decided to make a statement by ushering in the new age of orange-toned blush, pushing those rosy hues firmly out of sight. Coral, peach and copper were all the rage on the runway and bring about a welcome change from the same old shades that we tend to reach for. Not feeling too adventurous? Update your makeup bag with a subtle peach shade to refresh your look.
